Soft matter physics is studying a variety of physical states that can be easily deformed by thermal stresses or thermal fluctuations. They include liquid, colloids, polymers, foams, gels, granular materials, liquid crystals, and a number of biological materials. Our lab is especially interested in experimental studies of liquid-solid interfaces, liquid-biomatter interfaces, hydrodynamics in small systems, and fluctuations in nonequilibrium processes. All lab members are also co-appointed as members of the IBS Center for Soft and Living Matter.
연성물질물리는 열적인 응력이나 요동에 의해 변형이 쉽게 되는 물리적인 상태를 연구한다. 연성물질로 액체, 콜로이드, 고분자, 거품, 젤, 모래, 액정, 그리고 생체물질 등이 있다. 우리 연구실은 액체-고체 계면, 액체-생체 계면, 작은 유체계, 비평형과정의 요동 등에 대해 실험을 통해 연구한다. 모든 연구실 멤버는 IBS 첨단연성물질연구단에 속하고 있다.
