○ Nuclear Energy Development Program

Intended to advance nuclear energy and secure core technology by developing future-based core technology in order to safely provide energy, solve climate change, and improve national welfare

Funded Fields : Future nuclear reactor system, nuclear fuel cycle, Koreas Original Nuclear Technology (KonFI)

Funded Period : 5 years (3+2 years)

Eligibility : Universities, research institutes, companies

Budget : Total KRW 142 billion

Funding Details :

Design technology for 4th-generation nuclear energy systems (SFR and VHTR)

Development for Pyro processing for the recycling of used nuclear fuel

Nuclear Energy Research Infrastructure Program

Supports the establishment of facilities and equipment for nuclear R&D and its joint utilization, as well as systematically fostering core human resources in the field of nuclear energy

Funded Fields : Establishment and operation of research facilities and equipment, joint utilization of research facilities, core basic research for nuclear energy, and the education of researchers

Funded Period : 1 ~ 5 years

Eligibility : Universities, research institutes, companies

Budget : Total KRW 21.6 billion

Expansion of facilities and equipment for R&D which are necessary for performing nuclear energy R&D, and joint utilization of large-scale nuclear energy research facilities

Radiation Technology Development Program

Designed to secure the public safety by gaining a foothold in creating value added technology, promoting health, and developing advanced non-destructive testing and nuclear activity detection technology using radiation technology

Funded Fields : Radiation fusion, medical technology and advanced non-destructive testing technology, Prediction/Detection/Reduction Technology of Radioactive Contamination and related fields

Funded Period : 2~5 years (3+2 years)

Budget : Total KRW 42.4 billion (per year)

Development of radiation fusion and medical technologies which use radiation and radioactive isotopes

Development of advanced non-destructive testing technology which maximizes the safety of industrial and public facilities

Radiological Research Infrastructure Support Program

Designed to contribute to the facilitation of national research into the utilization of radiation by constructing facilities for performance evaluation and conducting experiments on radiation generation, as well as related equipment

Funded Fields : Construction of facilities and equipment for radiological devices

Funded Period : 5 years (3+2 years)

Eligibility : Universities, research institutes, companies

Budget : Total KRW 4.8 billion (per year)

Funding Details :

Construction of a 3,300m2 laboratory for research into radiological devices

Construction of equipment to process, assemble, and test the parts of radiological devices

International Cooperation Program for Nuclear Energy

Aimed at increasing international prestige by expanding nuclear energy technology overseas and participating in international activities
