Announcement for the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the 3rd Phase of Haoreum Alliance 6 Regional Universities R&D Collaborative Research Project

☞ Project Overview

  1. Project Name: 3rd Phase of Haoreum Alliance 6 Regional Universities R&D Collaborative Research Project
  2. Project Duration: January 2025 – January 2028 (3 years)
  3. Total Research Budget: 6.6 billion KRW (over 3 years)
    • Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP): 6 billion KRW
    • Local Governments: 600 million KRW (Ulsan: 300 million KRW, Pohang and Gyeongju: 150 million KRW each)

☞ Research Areas

Area Description
Regional Industry Collaboration Research to enhance the competitive power of industries in nuclear power regions (e.g., nuclear decommissioning technology, waste management, renewable energy, support for local businesses, etc.)
Future Energy Technologies Development of new technologies to improve the sustainability and safety of nuclear power (e.g., artificial intelligence, smart cities, hydrogen, nuclear fusion, energy storage, etc.)
Humanities and Social Integration Research on nuclear energy policy and improving social acceptance (e.g., improving nuclear awareness and understanding, etc.)
