□ 지원규모
ㅇ (거점형) 비수도권* 6개, 수도권 5개로 지역을 구분하여 11개 내외 선정․지원
* 「수도권정비계획법」 제2조 제1호에 따른 수도권(서울·경기·인천)을 제외
* 4개 권역(대전·세종·충남·충북, 광주·전남·전북·제주, 대구·경북·강원, 부산·울산·경남)으로 구분하여 권역별 최소 1개 이상 연구소 선정(단, 4대 과기원은 수도권으로 분류)
※ 분교는 분교가 실제로 위치한 지역을, 캠퍼스는 본교가 위치한 지역을 기준으로 함
ㅇ (컨소시엄형) 전국 단위*로 3개 내외를 선정․지원
* 이공분야 연구소가 소속된 대학의 지역을 고려하지 않고 자유롭게 컨소시엄 구성 가능

☞ Note: Only consortia with existing university research institutes in the science and engineering fields (i.e., institutes that have completed or are in their 9th year of funding) may apply. However, consortia consisting solely of previously funded institutes are not eligible to apply.

□ Support Scale
ㅇ(Hubl Model)
A total of approximately 11 institutes will be selected and supported, with 6 institutes in non-capital regions and 5 in the capital region.
Excludes the capital region (Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon) as defined in the Capital Region Management Act (Article 2, Item 1).
The selection will be divided into four regions (Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, Chungbuk; Gwangju, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk, Jeju; Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Gangwon; Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam), with at least one institute selected in each region. (Note: The four major science and technology institutions are considered part of the capital region.)
For branch campuses, the region of the branch campus is used, while for campuses, the location of the main university is used.
ㅇ (Consortium Model)
Approximately 3 consortia will be selected and supported nationwide.
Consortia may be formed freely without regard to the region of the university to which the research institutes belong.
