극지연구소는 남극세종과학기지 및 장보고과학기지, 북극다산과학기지, 쇄빙연구선「아라온」을 운영하며 극지역의 대기, 지구물리, 빙하, 해양 환경, 생물자원 연구 등 다각도의 연구 활동을 펼치고 있는 해양수산부 산하 정부출연 연구기관입니다.

극지연구소에서는 2010년부터 국내 극지연구 활성화 및 저변확대를 목표로 “학·연 극지연구 진흥프로그램(Polar Academic Program)”을 운영하고 있습니다. 이에 2024년도 신규과제 발굴을 위해 다음과 같이 공고하오니, 관심 있는 분들의 많은 지원 바랍니다.

1. 사업개요

□ 목적

1) 2024년도 “학ㆍ연 극지연구 진흥프로그램(PAP)” 사업의 신규과제 선정을 통한 국내 대학 중심의 극지연구 저변 확대 및 전문연구인력 양성

2) 극지 연구분야 신성장동력 발굴을 통한 학·연간 협동연구체계 구축

□ 공모 분야 : 극지 관련 모든 연구 주제 (자연과학 및 공학, 극지 관련 인문·사회과학 분야)

□ 지원기간 및 지원규모

* 과제 제안시 연구기간은 총 2년 3개월 이내로 함

□ 유의사항 : 연차별 과제 수행 여부 및 연구비 조정 가능

* 과제 선정·중간진도점검·연차평가결과에 따라 별도 확정함

□ 사업선정 절차 : 과제제안서 제출(연구책임자) ▶ 1단계 평가(서면평가) ▶ 연구계획서 제출(연구책임자) ▶ 2단계 평가(서면평가) ▶ 3단계 평가(발표평가) ▶ 과제 선정 및 착수(‘24.10월)

□ 국내 대학(교) 조교수 이상 교수 (조교수, 부교수, 정교수) 또는 연구소 정규직 연구원(박사학위 소지자)

The Korea Polar Research Institute(KOPRI) is a government-funded research institute under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries that operates the King Sejong Station in Antarctica , the Jang Bogo Station in Antarctica, the Dasan Station in the Arctic, and the icebreaker research vessel ” Araon ” and conducts diverse research activities on the atmosphere , geophysics , glaciers , marine environment , and biological resources in polar regions .

Since 2010 , KIOPRI has been operating the “ Polar Academic Program(PAP) ” with the goal of activating and expanding domestic polar research . Accordingly , we are announcing the following for the discovery of new projects for 2024 , and we hope for your support if you are interested .

□ Purpose

1) Expanding the base of polar research centered on domestic universities and fostering professional researchers through selection of new projects for the “ 2024  Polar Academic Program(PAP) ” project

2) Establishment of an academic and annual cooperative research system through discovery of new growth engines in polar research fields

□ Field of competition : All polar research topics ( natural science and engineering , polar humanities and social sciences )

□ Support period and support scale

* When proposing a project, the research period must be within 2 years and 3 months.

□ Note : Annual project performance and research expenses can be adjusted

* Separately confirmed based on task selection , mid-term progress check , and annual evaluation results

□ Business selection procedure : Submission of project proposal ( research director ) ▶ Stage 1 evaluation ( written evaluation ) ▶ Submission of research plan ( research director ) ▶ Stage 2 evaluation ( written evaluation ) ▶ Stage 3 evaluation ( presentation evaluation ) ▶ Project selection and commencement ( October ’24 )

□ Assistant professor or higher at a domestic university ( school ) ( assistant professor , associate professor , full professor ) or a full-time researcher at a research institute ( holder of a doctorate )
