                        Leading Foreign Research Institutes Recruitment Program

Objectives
• To support establishment and operation of joint research centers in Korea in Korea that will attract international researchers, technology and funding
• To secure core technology and gain a foothold as a global R&D hub

Progran Details
• Funding Period : a maximun of 6 years (2+4)
• Eligible Fields : Strategic technology fields needed at the national level, outlined in documents such as the ‘Basic Plan for Science and Technology.
• Eligible Applicants : Research institutes including universities and government- funded research institutes
• Funding Amount : Up to 600 million KRW
• Funding Details : Establishment of the Collaborative Research Center in Korea and substantial support for collaborative researches through a human resources and material exchange
• Support Conditions
– An established joint research center in Korea within the first year after the selection
– Long-term dispatch of foreign researchers to Korea and the provision of necessary individual work space and facilities
– A matching investment (cash or in-kind) sponsored by the foreign
• Budget for 2012 : 14,400 million KRW
• New Progets for the second half of 2012  : 2 project
