바이러스 면역학 연구실은 다양한 병원성 바이러스에서 염증성 세포사멸 및 사이토카인 분비를 조절하는 선천성 면역 센서 (Innate immune sensor)동정 및 분자적 병리 조절 기전 연구를 목표로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 이를 통해 선천성 면역 센서와 병원성 바이러스의 상관관계를 확립하여 바이오마커로서의 기능성 검증과 표적 치료로서의 가능성 및 기능을 규명하는 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 기저질환 질병 모델에서 병원성 바이러스가 감염 되었을때의 선천성 면역 병리 조절 기전을 연구하고 있습니다.

Innate immunity is the first line of defense against infectious disease. The resulting inflammation is the first response to infection and injury. Pathogen sensing and signaling in innate immune and barrier cells drive inflammation to combat infection. Excessive or chronic inflammation can contribute to the development and many diseases. Our laboratory seeks to gain fundamental insight into innate immune mechanisms to identify novel processes and new molecular targets. This will inform the development of therapeutic strategies.
