To secure key technologies and boost the research capabilities of domestic research institutions through Horizon 2020, a long-term European research investment strategy.

[Program Details]

1. Korea – EU Joint Research Support Program (Bottom-up)

Objective : To encourage Euro-Korean relations in research development and the success of Korean researchers in European research through the support of domestic researchers in the Horizon2020 program.

Funding period : 2~4 years (to be adjusted according to the research period of the EU hosts)

Project budget : All Horizon2020 fields

Eligible applicants : Domestic researchers affiliated with official partners of Horizon 2020

Funding amount : 1,600 million KRW (approximately 50?150 million KRW per project)

2. Korea-EU S&T Innovation Cooperation Program (KONNECT*)

Objective : To establish and promote the activities of Korea-EU support system for innovation of scientific technology to increase common interest of researchers between Korea and EU

Project budget : Total of 300 million KRW

Participants : 8 institutions from 5 countries (to be led by the NRF)
